In Aquatic Symphony, Hildegarde Handsaeme composes a flowing constellation of stylized faces, suspended in a space where movement and stillness coexist. The figures seem to drift, rotate, and echo one another — not bound by gravity, but guided by rhythm. Each form emerges through a single, continuous line, refined to its essence. Subtle variations in expression and orientation create a quiet choreography, where repetition becomes harmony and difference becomes resonance. The structured black frame anchors the composition, offering contrast to the organic fluidity within. Inside this defined space, the elements remain free — suggesting a delicate balance between control and spontaneity. Rather than narrating, the work unfolds as a visual composition — almost musical in nature — where line replaces sound, and form becomes rhythm. With Aquatic Symphony, Handsaeme reaffirms her mastery of minimal means, creating a universe where elegance, clarity, and movement converge in perfect equilibrium.
